Jim Murphy continues to operate a very successful hire-drive houseboat business on the Murray River in South Australia - commencing with one small houseboat in 1996 and later registering the expanded business as Quality Houseboats in 2000.

Quality Houseboats has been widely acknowledged as having set new standards of accommodation in the houseboat industry.

GREY WATER FILTRATION

We have been interested in the treatment of grey water on houseboats since 1998 and assisted the inventor of the Newtreat system with his early efforts to gain EPA acceptance and recognition for his product. Two of our boats were fitted with the units in 2008 - along with 6 only other boats - and we are pleased and proud to have played a small but positive part in reducing pollution in our marvellous Murray River to make it safer for those who enjoy being on it - or in it !!

The Australian, State and Riverland Tourism Awards won by us are listed on our about us page and are testimony to the standard of product and the quality of service you will receive when you travel on a Quality Houseboat.

We are the only Riverland based tourism business which has ever been inducted into the South Australian Tourism Hall of Fame.
